Dry skin can be painful and difficult to live with. It can cause the complexion to age prematurely and create trouble with many facets of life. While there is no cure for dryness of the skin there are many things that can be done to care for your dermis and make life more enjoyable. 1) Exfoliate. Exfoliating means to get rid of the dead cells that are on the top of the skin to reveal the softer more supple skin underneath. Most experts say to do an exfoliating regimen two times a week but if your compexion is really dry you may want to do one more often.

2) Keep you skin clean. When people have dry skin they will sometimes shy away from water as it tends to dry the skin out more. But it is important to keep the skin clean. Avoid using any cleaners or toners that contain alcohol.

3) Moisturize regularly. One of the best things you can do for your skin is find a good moisturizer and use it regularly. Look for a moisturizer that is oil free and use it as often as needed.

4) Drink plenty of water. Water hydrates the body which includes the skin. When the body is not getting an ample amount of water the skin will take on a peaked and drawn appearance. Hydrate your body and your skin by drinking at least eight cups of water every day.

5) Avoid drinking alcohol and caffeine. These products can make dry complex worse.

1) Try using almond oil or olive oil on dry complex areas.

2) Grape seed oil, avocado oil and castor oil have also been said to help with your dermis problem.

3) Mash up a ripe banana and apply it to the dry area. Wash with warm water after 15-20 minutes.
